Iceberg LakeDay 13- Wednesday, July 6
While we originally wanted to go to the Glacier Field today, it is not possible. Instead, we are hiking to Iceberg Lake. No driving was necessary as the trailhead was behind our motel. The hike, a fairly level 9.4 miles to a scenic lake in a bowl, was excellent. Before the wind picked up, the lake was like a perfect mirror, and then turned deep blue when the breeze ripple its surface. As the name suggests, there were several icebergs floating in it. Along the trail, we passed Ptarmigan Falls, which cut a spectacular gorge through the rock. We ate dinner at our hotel after returning. Before going to sleep, we went "goat spotting" using a powerful telescope.

Many Glacier Park Entrance Day 14- Thursday, July 7
We ate breakfast at Johnson's. The food was good, but not remarkable. The morning reflection on the lake was beautiful. Since the day was clear, we drove part of the Going-to-the-Sun Road again. Along the way, we stopped to view Wild Goose Island, an exhibit on avalanches, and an exhibit about Jackson Glacier. We saw a goat licking up spilled anti-freeze at the Logan Pass Visitor center. Weird. We took a short hike to Avalanche Lake. We also went a short way on the Highline Trail- very, very steep drop-offs to one side. We ate dinner at the Two Sisters Café; it was very good. Following dinner, we went "goat spotting" again.

View from Bear Hump Day 15- Friday, July 8
The activity for the day was crossing to the Canadian side of the International Peace Park, Waterton Lakes. We got caught in a traffic jam caused by a round up. It was a scene up mayhem, two cowboys lassoing cows that are trying to get away, with a dog running around barking. After a stop at the visitor center, we went on a hike up Bear Hump. It was very buggy, but gave good views of the park. We ate lunch at Zum's in Waterton Townsite. It was pretty good. Following lunch, we went on a boat ride. From the boat we saw a bear. We also learned that the US-Canadian border, at least in this area, is cleared of trees every few years. The boat stopped briefly in Goat Haunt, Montana. From Waterton, we drove to Great Falls, and ate dinner at Bert & Ernie's steakhouse. It was good.

Day 16- Saturday, July 9
We got up at 6:30 and went to the airport. We shared a massive cinnamon roll for breakfast. We boarded and took off at 8:40.
